Insulating lagging has been removed to show pipe work and valve configuration on some images.
The valve with a blue cap is a tempering valve which must be installed on all new installations, this ensures that water supplied for hygiene purposes will be at a maximum of 50 degrees centigrade.
You can see from one of the images that a used hot water service has been installed, this installation is still classed as a new installation and all the regulations still apply.
